MDI Pinot Grigio 2025

MDI Pinot Grigio is a dry, clean white from a mature family vineyard in Mildura.

Limestone-studded red-brown loam underpins this mature Mildura vineyard, and the soil is a large part of why the wine keeps its acid in such a warm place. Fruit was machine harvested at dawn and taken to the winery immediately, then pressed without any sulphur addition, with only the heart of the press retained, the middle cut where the juice is cleanest. Fermentation ran at cool temperatures, after which the wine was left to settle and clarify before filtration and bottling. Nothing is added to dress it up; the intent is transparency.

Crisp and straightforward in the best sense: nashi pear, lemon and a faintly saline finish. Dry, light and quick. Serve well chilled, around 8 degrees, with fish and chips, a chicken schnitzel, or a plate of oysters.
