MDI Ribolla Gialla 2025

MDI Ribolla Gialla is a skin-contact white from the Chalmers vineyard in the Murray Darling.

Thirty-one days on skins is a short stay by the standards of this label, and it was a deliberate call: tasting through, the team found a bright energy in the 2025 that they wanted to keep. Fruit from the Chalmers vineyard was destemmed in full into stainless steel for that maceration, then basket pressed and given time in seasoned oak before a winter bottling, which left the wine a few months in glass to settle before release. Ribolla Gialla is a Friulian variety that all but demands skin contact to show what it has.

Lighter on its feet than most amber wines: yellow plum, citrus rind, a whiff of dried herb and tannin that is present but polite. Serve at 12 degrees with grilled fish, a herby chicken salad, or fritto misto.
