Meadowbank Riesling 2025

Meadowbank Riesling is a balanced, gently off-dry Riesling from two blocks in the Derwent Valley.

Riesling was here from the start, since the estate's first vines went into a quiet corner of the Derwent Valley, and the variety has been turning out some of Tasmania's best ever since, with critics reliably taking notice. The 2025 draws on two parcels, Maccies Block and Top Wool Shed. Winemaking splits the difference between purity and texture: stainless steel fermentation for the clean, direct part of the wine, old French oak for a softer edge. What lands in the glass is bright, zesty acidity in contact with a small amount of residual sugar, a combination this site does particularly well.

Fresh and layered, with lime, nashi pear and white blossom, a light touch of sweetness and acidity that keeps everything taut. Easy to drink and hard to put down. Serve at 10 degrees with Vietnamese chicken salad, pork belly, or a mild curry.
