Mike Press Shiraz 2022

Mike Press Shiraz is an estate-grown, cool-climate Adelaide Hills Shiraz from the Kenton Valley, a reliable red for every day.

Grown this high, Shiraz ripens more slowly than in the warmer valleys to the north and south, and it shows peppery spice, dark berries and fresher acidity as a result. The vineyard sits near Lenswood, planted by Mike and his family after he spent many years making wine for larger companies. Their approach is estate fruit at prices well under the regional norm.

Spicy and medium-weight, with plum and pepper. Throw some sausages or lamb chops on the barbecue, or pair it with pizza or a slow-cooked ragù; 16–18°C is about right.
