Description
Ministry of Clouds Grenache is a McLaren Vale Grenache from one of the region's most thoughtful small producers.
Ministry of Clouds is a small McLaren Vale label founded by Bernice Ong and Julian Forwood, who came to winemaking after long careers in the wine trade. They work with growers across the region, with a particular focus on the old sandy sites of Blewitt Springs, and favour gentle, low-intervention winemaking that keeps the emphasis on site and freshness rather than oak or extraction. McLaren Vale holds some of the oldest Grenache vines in the world, many of them dry-grown bush vines, and the variety has become the region's calling card for bright, perfumed, lighter-framed reds. This wine draws on that old-vine heritage and is made to emphasise purity and fine tannin, and it is sealed under screwcap.
A juicy, medium-bodied Grenache for roast chicken, pork, charcuterie and Mediterranean dishes; serve at around 16 degrees.
