Description
Monte Tondo San Pietro Valpolicella is a Corvina-based red from the hills north of Verona.
Valpolicella is made principally from Corvina with Rondinella and Molinara, grown on limestone and volcanic soils in a series of valleys running down from the Lessini mountains. In its basic form it is a light, sour-cherry red meant for drinking young, quite distinct from the dried-grape Amarone made in the same zone. Fermentation is in stainless steel with brief ageing.
Serve slightly cool at 15 degrees with pasta, salumi or roast chicken. Drink within five years.
