Montinore Estate Red Cap Pinot Noir 2019

Montinore Estate Red Cap Pinot Noir is a bright, early-drinking Willamette Valley Pinot Noir.

Most of the blend comes off dry-farmed estate vines in the Tualatin Hills, with a smaller portion from a sustainably farmed vineyard in Yamhill-Carlton to the south. That second site is warmer and sits on volcanic soils, so it brings juicy fruit weight to a wine that is otherwise built on silk and perfume. Destemmed fruit ferments in small open-top steel vessels, then matures for ten months across stainless steel and French and Hungarian oak. The whole approach aims at a Pinot you can open on release, and the estate carries LIVE sustainability certification.

Bright cherry and red plum with earthy tones and a warm spicy depth, compact and charming with a juicy close. Serve at 15 degrees with roast chicken, salmon, or a mushroom and leek pie. Remarkable value at the price.
