Montinore Estate Reserve Riesling 2019

Montinore Estate Reserve Riesling is a bright, textural dry Riesling from Oregon.

Forty-year-old Geisenheim 68 vines, own-rooted, on a south-facing slope above Graham Lake supply this wine. Handpicked fruit goes whole-cluster to the press and then into stainless steel barrels for a cool fermentation, and the bottled wine is cellared at the estate for up to two years before release, a habit that lets the Riesling knit together before anyone sees it. The property is dry-farmed and certified biodynamic, and the Laurelwood soils of the Tualatin Hills, loess over basalt, sit under everything grown here.

White peach, citrus and summer florals open it, then a clean palate brimming with zesty flavour, refreshing acidity and a spice-flecked complexity. Serve at 9 to 10 degrees with sashimi, roast pork and apple, or a Thai green curry. It will age well.
