Mountadam Eden Valley Gewürztraminer 2024

Mountadam Gewürztraminer is an unusual Australian bottling of the Alsatian variety, from high Eden Valley vineyards.

Gewürztraminer is aromatic to a fault and loses its acidity quickly in warm conditions, which is why it is grown so little in Australia; the altitude at Mountadam, above 500 metres, is what makes it viable. The estate has farmed here since 1972 and is certified organic. The wine is pressed gently and fermented cool, finished dry.

Serve at 10 degrees with spiced Asian dishes, pork or a washed-rind cheese. Drink within four years.
