Mt. Brave Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Mt. Brave Cabernet Sauvignon comes from steep volcanic slopes on Mount Veeder, high above the Napa valley floor.

Mount Veeder is the southernmost of Napa's mountain appellations, cooled by San Pablo Bay and planted on thin volcanic and marine sedimentary soils that drain hard. Vines here struggle, yields are tiny and berries small, which gives wines of concentration and firm tannin that need years. The estate works only mountain fruit.

Decant well ahead and serve at 17 degrees with aged beef, lamb or game. It rewards twenty years.
