Description

Mt Difficulty Pipeclay Terrace Single Vineyard Pinot Noir is a limited-release Pinot made only in outstanding vintages.

Pipeclay Terrace is one of Mt Difficulty's single vineyards in Bannockburn, and the wine is made in very small quantities from its best fruit. Bannockburn's dry, warm conditions and old gold-mining terraces give Pinot Noir of real depth, while the site's own soil brings a fine, slightly earthy structure. The 2018 shows bright violet florals over blackberry and black cherry, with dense, supple dark fruit carried by precise, linear tannins. It is floral and perfumed, with the fruit returning on the finish.

Now with some age, it is ready to enjoy. Serve at around 15 to 17 degrees with roast quail, lamb rack with herbs or a wild mushroom pie.
