Description

Mt Difficulty Roaring Meg Chardonnay is a soft, generous Chardonnay from Central Otago.

Roaring Meg is Mt Difficulty's approachable range, named after a stream that tumbles into the Kawarau Gorge near the winery. The fruit comes from Central Otago vineyards, and the wines are made to show the region's purity and freshness without needing time in the cellar. The 2020 vintage was a cool one, which gave this Chardonnay good tension. Honeysuckle, baked apple and brioche sit over a flinty edge, while the palate brings pear, stone fruit and custard with a soft texture and a fresh, long finish.

Serve chilled with roast chicken, crayfish or a creamy mushroom pasta. It is drinking well now.
