Description

Mt Difficulty Roaring Meg Pinot Noir is a classic, fruit-forward Central Otago Pinot Noir.

This is one of the most widely known Pinots from Central Otago, and a good introduction to the region. Mt Difficulty blend fruit from several Central Otago vineyards and use gentle oak so that the fruit stays at the front. Bright strawberry and cherry aromas carry hints of smoke and spice, and the palate is lush and ripe with red berry, plum and cherry, fine tannins and good balance. It is made by the same Bannockburn-based team, led by winemaker Greg Lane, that produces the estate's single-vineyard Pinots.

At around 15 to 16 degrees it is a flexible food wine: try it with salmon, pork loin, lamb burgers or a mushroom pizza.
