Munda Djab Wurrung Country Syrah Grampians 2023

Munda Djab Wurrung Country Syrah Grampians is a cool-climate Syrah from the Grampians in western Victoria, on Djab Wurrung Country.

This Aboriginal-owned Australian label takes its name from the word munda, meaning land or Country, and each wine is named for the Traditional Owners of the place its fruit comes from. Here that is the Djab Wurrung people of the Grampians, a high, cool region in western Victoria with a long history of spicy, savoury Shiraz. The Syrah name on the label signals the style: dark berry fruit, toasted spice and a hint of cocoa, carried by a graphite-like line, balanced acidity and fine, long tannins. It is a wine built around freshness and savoury detail, the hallmarks of Grampians fruit.

Serve at around 16 to 18 degrees with slow-roasted lamb shoulder, kangaroo fillet or mushroom and lentil dishes. It drinks well now after a short decant and will reward a few years in the cellar.
