Munda palawa kani Methode Traditionelle Vintage Brut is a Tasmanian vintage sparkling made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the traditional method.

The name comes from palawa kani, the revived language of Tasmanian Aboriginal people, and reflects the approach of this Aboriginal-owned label, which names each wine for the Country where its grapes are grown. Tasmania's cool maritime climate is the source of many of Australia's finest sparkling wines, giving Pinot Noir and Chardonnay the fine, lingering acidity that traditional-method wine needs. Second fermentation takes place in the bottle, and time on lees adds toasty brioche and shortbread notes alongside crisp apple, citrus and a touch of beeswax. A mineral edge gives depth and a refreshing finish.

Pour it well chilled as an aperitif, or with freshly shucked oysters, smoked salmon blinis or tempura prawns. It is drinking beautifully now and will hold for a few more years.
