Munda Walgalu Country Tumbarumba Chardonnay 2022

Munda Walgalu Country Tumbarumba Chardonnay is a cool-climate Chardonnay from the high country of southern New South Wales.

Tumbarumba sits in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains, and its high vineyards are among the coolest in mainland Australia, producing Chardonnay with fine natural acidity. The land is Walgalu Country, and this Aboriginal-owned label, named for munda, meaning land or Country, puts the Traditional Owners' name first. Oak is used with restraint, adding complexity and texture without dominating the fruit. The 2022 is full flavoured and textural, with white stone fruit, white flowers, citrus, beeswax and toasted nuts, framed by fine, focused acidity.

Serve chilled, though not too cold, with roast pork belly, crab linguine or a creamy mushroom risotto. It has the acidity to age gracefully for several years.
