Description

Murdoch Hill Landau Syrah is a single-block wine from the estate's oldest Syrah plantings at Oakbank.

The winery names its top wines after horse-drawn carriages, a nod to the family's history on the property. Syrah at Adelaide Hills altitude is peppery and medium-bodied, closer to the northern Rhône than to Australian Shiraz, and the Landau block is bottled separately for that reason. Fermentation includes whole bunches, with French oak maturation.

Serve at 16 degrees with lamb, duck or grilled vegetables. It will develop over ten years.
