Description

Murdoch Hill Phaeton Pinot Noir comes from a single block on the family's Oakbank property.

Phaeton is another of the carriage names the estate uses for its top wines. The Adelaide Hills' cool nights and late harvest give Pinot Noir the acidity and fine tannin it needs, and Michael Downer makes it with a Burgundian hand, using whole bunches and native yeast with restrained new oak.

Serve at 15 degrees with duck, venison or mushroom dishes. It rewards eight years.
