Murdoch Hill Syrah 2022

Murdoch Hill Syrah is the estate's regional expression of the variety, from Oakbank in the Adelaide Hills.

At 400 to 500 metres the Hills ripen Syrah at moderate sugar, producing a medium-bodied, peppery red that growers here call by its French name for good reason. The Downer family has worked the property since 1998. Whole bunches go into the ferment with native yeast, and the wine matures in French oak, largely seasoned.

Serve at 16 degrees with lamb, charcuterie or roasted capsicum. Drink over the next eight years.
