Description
Description
Nanny Goat Crossbreed is a skin-contact white from Central Otago, blending Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer and Muscat.
Fermenting white grapes on their skins, as though they were red, gives colour, grip and a savoury edge, and the name fits both the method and a winery named after the wild goats of the Central Otago hills. The region's continental climate, with hot days and freezing nights, keeps acidity high in all three aromatic varieties. Nanny Goat released its first wines in 2005 and its home vineyard sits on two ancient terraces at Queensberry, between 270 and 290 metres. The wine is left unfined and unfiltered.
Serve at 11 degrees with charcuterie, washed-rind cheese, roast chicken or Middle Eastern mezze. Drink within three years.
