Nautilus Estate Southern Valleys Pinot Noir 2023

Nautilus Estate Southern Valleys Pinot Noir is a savoury, concentrated Pinot Noir from the clay-rich Southern Valleys of Marlborough.

The Southern Valleys, including the Omaka, Waihopai and Brancott, run south from the Wairau plain and are home to many of Marlborough's best Pinot Noir sites thanks to their heavier clay soils. Founded by the Hill-Smith family of Yalumba, the estate has made Pinot Noir a key focus over many vintages. The 2023 is garnet in colour, with dark berries, cassis and subtle spice layered with leather and earthy tones, and a dense, silky core of tannin running into a long, savoury, refined finish.

For best results, serve at around 16 degrees and pair with roast lamb, venison or duck with cherries. It will continue to build complexity for several years.
