Nicolas-Jay Affinités Chardonnay 2023

Nicolas-Jay Affinités Chardonnay is a light-footed yet powerful Willamette Valley Chardonnay with plenty of tension.

Two friends from very different worlds share this Oregon winery: Burgundy vigneron Jean-Nicolas Méo and Jay Boberg, a veteran of the record business. Each year Affinités draws on a selection of Willamette Valley vineyards to build a Chardonnay of tension and power, and 2023 follows the pattern. Lemon flower and green melon lead into tangerine rind and a cereal note, then apricot, green apple and stone-fruit minerality on a broad palate, carried by a clean line of acidity to a bright finish.

Pour it well chilled alongside grilled prawns, pork loin with apple or a simple herb omelette. It can be enjoyed now or cellared for several years.
