Nicolas-Jay Willamette Valley L'Ensemble Pinot Noir 2022

Nicolas-Jay Willamette Valley L'Ensemble Pinot Noir is the winery's blended Pinot Noir, assembled from hand-selected barrels across the valley.

L'Ensemble is the core Pinot Noir of this Oregon project from Jean-Nicolas Méo, of Domaine Méo-Camuzet in Burgundy, and Jay Boberg. Méo selects barrels from a range of Willamette Valley vineyards and blends them for balance and complexity, and the winery describes the 2022 as the fourth iteration of this barrel selection. Expect raspberry liqueur, sweet bark and earth, red flowers, white pepper and cherry, then tangerine, red and blue fruits on a racy palate with tight, granular tannins and a juicy, fresh finish.

Serve at around 15 to 17 degrees with roast quail, miso-glazed salmon or charcuterie. Approachable now, it will improve in the cellar over several years.
