Description
Nicole Lamarche's Côte de Nuits-Villages is a négociant bottling from limestone slopes south of Premeaux.
Côte de Nuits-Villages gathers the vineyards at either end of the Côte de Nuits, and the southern section around Comblanchier and Corgoloin is known for firm, rocky Pinot Noir at approachable money. Nicole Lamarche took over the family domaine at Vosne-Romanée in 2018 and has since added a small négociant range; on the grower's behalf she keeps the exact source of this fruit to herself, but the vines lie on the rocky limestone slopes south of Premeaux. This is only the second release of the wine. The appellation suits her style, which is built on delicacy, perfume and fine tannin rather than extraction, and the wine is made the same way as the domaine's own bottlings, with gentle handling in the cellar and restrained oak.
Ready now and good for five years; serve at 16–18°C with charcuterie, roast chicken or a mushroom tart.
