Nicole Lamarche Grand Cru Grands Echézeaux is the final release from the domaine's parcel here, the vines having since been leased to another Vosne grower.

Grands Echézeaux is the smaller and more highly regarded of the two Echézeaux grand crus, lying immediately below Clos de Vougeot on deeper, more even soils than its larger neighbour, and its wines carry more weight and structure than most of Vosne-Romanée's grand cru holdings suggest. Domaine Lamarche farms a 0.3-hectare parcel planted in 1979 near the Route des Grands Crus, just below the climat of Echézeaux du Dessus. Nicole Lamarche has run the cellar since 2007 and works with low yields and a light hand in extraction, so the wine reads more on finesse and completeness than on power. From the 2022 vintage the vines pass to Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair, which makes this bottling the end of a long chapter.

Best given eight to ten years and good for two decades. Serve at 16-18°C with roast venison, duck with cherries or aged hard cheese.
