Nicole Lamarche Meursault is a village wine that leans towards freshness and precision rather than the appellation's more opulent side.

Meursault is the largest of the white-wine communes of the Côte de Beaune, and its village wines vary widely depending on whether the fruit comes from the flatter ground near the road or from the slopes. The appellation's reputation rests on breadth and a certain nutty richness, though the best modern examples pair that with real tension. Nicole Lamarche made her name with the Pinot Noir of Vosne-Romanée and has since built a small négociant range, working with growers she knows well and applying a deliberately light touch in the cellar, with restrained oak and minimal handling. The wine shows ripe orchard fruit and subtle richness alongside the mineral precision that marks well-made contemporary white Burgundy, and it finishes with energy and finesse rather than weight.

Drinking well now and good for six to eight years. Serve at 10-12°C with roast chicken, scallops or a creamy pasta.
