Description
Nicole Lamarche Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Malconsorts is the last release of this cuvée under the Lamarche name, following a division of the family vineyards.
Les Malconsorts lies at the southern end of Vosne-Romanée, above Les Chaumes and immediately beside La Tâche, and it has climbed in reputation over the past two decades as Cathiard, Dujac, Lamarche and de Montille have all put their names to it; Jasper Morris MW ranks it among his three favourite premiers crus in the Côte d'Or. The domaine's half-hectare sat at the southern edge of the climat in two plots, one high and one low, the upper carrying more stones and the lower more clay and consequently more substance, and both were usually picked on the same day. The vines date from 1969. After a cousin claimed her inheritance and sold her share of the family holdings, Malconsorts has passed out of the domaine's hands, and only three barrels were made here.
Worth eight years in the cellar and good for twenty. Serve at 16-18°C with roast game bird, beef with mushrooms or aged Comté.
