Nicole Lamarche Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots comes from one of the best-placed Premier Crus in the commune, between Echézeaux and Romanée-Saint-Vivant.

Les Suchots is among the largest and most highly regarded Premier Crus of Vosne-Romanée, running along the northern side of the village with Echézeaux above it and Romanée-Saint-Vivant to the south. The soils are relatively deep, and the site has long been associated with a perfumed, silky, generously fruited style of Vosne rather than a firm or structural one, which suits the Lamarche approach well. Nicole Lamarche makes the family's wines with gentle extraction, a measured use of whole bunches and restrained oak, letting the aromatic side of the appellation carry the wine. Expect the classic Vosne signature of red berry fruit and floral spice, with silky tannins and a mineral freshness running underneath, in a refined and classically proportioned frame.

Drinking well from four or five years and good for twelve. Serve at 16-18°C with roast duck, game birds or a mushroom tart.
