Description

Ocean Eight Aylward Pinot Noir is the top Pinot Noir from this Mornington Peninsula estate, fine-boned and made to age.

Shoreham sits in the cooler, higher part of the Peninsula, with views out to Western Port. The family's best estate fruit goes into this bottling, which carries their surname and heads the range. Picking is by hand, handling is gentle and oak is used carefully, so the vineyard does the talking. Depth, finesse and cellaring potential are the point.

Silky and perfumed, with red cherry and fine tannins. Pour at 14–16°C with duck, mushroom risotto or roast quail, or put a bottle away; it will keep developing over several years.
