Ocean Eight The Gippslander Pinot Noir 2022

Ocean Eight The Gippslander Pinot Noir is a light, bright Victorian Pinot Noir from a small Mornington Peninsula family winery.

For this one the family look beyond their home vineyard at Shoreham, to cool Victorian country east of the Peninsula, as the name hints. It's handled the same way as the estate wines: gently, with wild ferments and a light hand on oak, so red fruit, spice and fine tannin come through. Think of it as an easy, early-drinking way into the house style.

Juicy and supple, with red cherry and gentle spice. It drinks well now and will hold over the next few years. Try it slightly cool, 14–16°C, with roast chicken, mushroom risotto, grilled salmon or charcuterie.
