O'Leary Walker Clare Valley Nero d'Avola is a juicy, medium-bodied red made from Sicily's signature grape, grown in the Clare Valley.

Nero d'Avola comes from Sicily, where it copes well with heat and holds its acidity, qualities that make it a natural fit for warm South Australian regions such as the Clare. This version from the Clare Valley winemaking duo of David O'Leary and Nick Walker is bright ruby, with wild raspberry, blueberry and dark cherry, earthy spice, subtle cedar oak and silky tannins. It is a fresh, modern alternative to the region's traditional Shiraz and Cabernet.

Try it a touch cool, around 15 degrees, with pizza, eggplant parmigiana or lamb souvlaki. Drink over the next few years while the fruit is bright.
