O'Leary Walker Polish Hill Riesling Museum Release 2016

O'Leary Walker Polish Hill Riesling Museum Release is a bottle-aged Clare Valley Riesling, held back by the winery and released with added complexity.

Polish Hill River, in the eastern part of the Clare Valley, is prized for Riesling of intensity and fine structure grown on harder, slaty soils. David O'Leary and Nick Walker have made Riesling from the sub-region for many years, and this 2016 has been cellared to show how the style develops. Time has brought lemon curd, cold toast, honey blossom and musk to the nose, while the palate keeps powerful citrus and tangerine, tight acidity and a chalky, slate-like structure.

Serve chilled, though not too cold, to show its bottle-aged character. It is lovely with pork and fennel, smoked trout or Thai-style fish cakes.
