Description
Oliver's Taranga Grenache comes from old dry-grown bush vines in McLaren Vale.
The region's old Grenache plantings date from the era when the variety went into fortified wine, and the survivors now produce some of Australia's best value reds: perfumed, medium-bodied and savoury. The Olivers arrived from Scotland in 1839 and planted at Taranga in 1841. Maturation is in seasoned oak so the fruit leads.
Serve slightly cool at 16 degrees with roast lamb, duck or a mushroom dish. Drink over the next eight years.
