Olivier Leflaive Bourgogne Rouge Cuvée Margot 375ml 2023

Olivier Leflaive Bourgogne Rouge Cuvée Margot in half bottle is an easy-drinking red Burgundy, sized for a lunch or dinner for two.

The Leflaive name has been tied to Puligny-Montrachet for generations, and Olivier set up his own house there in 1984, working estate vineyards alongside bought-in grapes. Named after one of his daughters, and a gentle play on Château Margaux, this Pinot Noir is assembled from about twenty plots between Santenay and Pernand-Vergelesses at 230 to 250 metres. After destemming, the fruit ferments in open vats for two to three weeks. The wine then spends around sixteen months maturing, largely in barrel, with only about an eighth of the oak new.

Pour it at cellar temperature, around 16 degrees, with a cheese board, duck rillettes, veal or baked salmon. It's ready to enjoy now and should drink nicely over the next few years.
