Olivier Leflaive Meursault 1er Cru Caillerets 2022

Olivier Leflaive Meursault 1er Cru Caillerets is a premier cru white Burgundy from the Côte de Beaune, made from Chardonnay.

Founded in 1984 in Puligny-Montrachet by Olivier Leflaive, of the family behind the renowned Domaine Leflaive, the house works as both grower and négociant across the Côte de Beaune, with a focus on the great white wines of Puligny, Chassagne and Meursault. Les Caillerets is a small premier cru in Meursault, on the Volnay side of the village, where limestone soils give Chardonnay freshness to balance Meursault's natural richness. The 2022 has an open, expressive nose of peach with touches of eucalyptus and liquorice, and a full, sapid palate.

Serve at around 12 degrees, cool but not cold, with lobster, roast chicken with morels or veal in a cream sauce. It will reward several years in the cellar.
