Olivier Leflaive Meursault 375ml 2023

Olivier Leflaive Meursault is a generous village white Burgundy from one of the Côte de Beaune's great Chardonnay communes, offered here in half bottle.

Lying between Volnay and Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault's limestone and marl slopes produce some of Burgundy's roundest and most textural Chardonnay. Olivier Leflaive set up his house in neighbouring Puligny-Montrachet in 1984, working estate vineyards alongside bought-in grapes, and has built its name on precise, well-balanced white Burgundy from the surrounding villages. The grapes for this village wine are harvested by hand, and the wine is raised in oak barrels, which adds breadth without heaviness. The result is a supple, expressive Meursault with a subtle hint of spice.

Serve chilled but not icy, at around 12 degrees, with roast chicken in a creamy sauce, lobster or a wedge of Comté. The half bottle is an easy way to enjoy a glass or two of Meursault with dinner.
