Ornellaia Eligo dell'Ornellaia Grappa Riserva 500ml

Ornellaia Eligo dell'Ornellaia Grappa Riserva is an oak-aged Tuscan grappa distilled from the grape pomace of Ornellaia, the Bolgheri estate's flagship red.

Once the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot have been pressed for the wine, the fresh skins are sent for distillation. The spirit is then matured for at least three years in oak barrels previously used at the estate, which is longer than the minimum required for a Riserva and gives the grappa its golden colour and soft, rounded feel. The name comes from the Latin for 'I choose', a nod to the careful selection the estate applies in the vineyard and at every step of production.

Serve it neat at room temperature, or very slightly cool, in a small tulip glass after dinner. It sits well alongside espresso, dark chocolate, cantucci or a plate of aged cheese. It comes in a 500ml bottle.
