Description

Ox Hardy Slate Shiraz is a deeply coloured McLaren Vale Shiraz with a mineral, powdery-textured edge.

Made by Andrew 'Ox' Hardy, whose family has been part of McLaren Vale winemaking since the 1800s, this Shiraz takes its name from the slate that runs through parts of the region. It is inky with purple hues, offering plum, a hint of spice and a blueberry lift. Dark fruits carry through to the palate, where a minerally texture and powdery tannins lead to a long finish.

Open it about half an hour before dinner and serve at 16 to 18 degrees. Great with a peppered steak, lamb shanks or a hearty beef ragu. It should drink well over the next several years.
