Description
Pagès Védrenne Crème de Pêche is a Burgundian peach liqueur made in the same house style as the region's classic crème de cassis.
Védrenne was founded at Nuits-Saint-Georges in the 1920s and built its reputation on crème de cassis made from Burgundian blackcurrants; it now sits alongside the Auvergne house of Pagès within the same family group. The crèmes are made by macerating whole fruit in neutral alcohol for several weeks so that colour and flavour are drawn out by cold infusion rather than by heat or distillation, after which the infusion is pressed, blended and sweetened. French law requires a high minimum sugar level for anything labelled crème, which gives the liqueur its thick texture. This peach version is bottled at 15% alcohol in a 700 mL bottle.
Use it as the base of a kir royal or a peach cocktail, top it with crémant or dry white wine, or pour it over ice; keep the bottle refrigerated once opened.
