Palliser Estate Pinot Noir 2023

Palliser Estate Pinot Noir is a Burgundian-style Pinot Noir from the heart of Martinborough.

As one of the wineries that helped put Martinborough on the map for Pinot Noir, the estate treats this wine as a benchmark for the village. Grapes come from the estate's vineyards on the Martinborough Terrace, where warm days and cool, windy nights give fine-boned, perfumed wines. The 2023 is pale ruby, with black and red cherry, mulberry, dusky florals, anise and a note of summer hay. Silky and supple, it layers dark forest fruits with savoury dried herbs, finishing long and elegant.

This is a wine for the table: serve at 15 to 17 degrees alongside roast quail, lamb rump with salsa verde or seared tuna. Cellar for five years or more if you like a more savoury style.
