Description
Paolo Scavino Barolo Bric dël Fiasc DOCG is the estate's flagship single vineyard, on the hill that rises directly above Castiglione Falletto.
Bric dël Fiasc is dialect for the Bricco Fiasco hill, a south-facing site in the middle of the Barolo zone, and it has been the heart of the Scavino holdings since the family estate was established in 1921 by Lorenzo Scavino and his son Paolo. It was one of the first vineyards in the region to be bottled under its own name, at a time when nearly all Barolo was blended across communes. Enrico Scavino, who joined his father in 1951, still sets the direction, working with his daughters Enrica and Elisa. The Nebbiolo is fermented with a long maceration and matured in French oak.
Decant well in advance and serve at around 18 degrees with braised beef, game or aged Piedmontese cheese; it will continue to develop in bottle for many years.
*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
