Description
Paolo Scavino Barolo Bric dël Fiasc DOCG Museum Release is a single-vineyard Nebbiolo from the Fiasco cru in Castiglione Falletto, in the heart of Barolo. Here, different geological formations meet within the vineyard, giving Bric dël Fiasc its distinctive combination of finesse and power. It is one of Paolo Scavino’s most important Barolos, made in a structured, classical style that requires considerable time to reveal its full complexity.
The 1999 Museum Release is particularly special in 1.5L magnum. After more than a quarter of a century, this is mature Barolo from an exceptional format: the greater volume of wine relative to the oxygen beneath the cork generally allows magnums to evolve more slowly than standard bottles. Nebbiolo’s naturally high acidity and formidable tannin structure further underpin its ability to develop over decades, making an aged Bric dël Fiasc in magnum a rare opportunity to experience one of Piemonte’s great vineyards with significant maturity.
Stand the bottle upright well before opening to allow any sediment to settle, then decant carefully and serve at around 16 to 18 degrees with braised beef, game, truffle dishes, porcini or mature Piedmontese cheeses.
