Paolo Scavino Vino da Tavola Rosso 2024

Paolo Scavino Vino da Tavola Rosso is an everyday Piedmontese table red blended from Dolcetto, Nebbiolo, Barbera and a little Cabernet Sauvignon.

Blending across varieties places this wine outside the DOC rules, which in Piedmont are drawn tightly around single grapes and single zones, so it is labelled simply as a table wine. That freedom is the point: it allows the estate to assemble a red for daily drinking rather than for the cellar, drawing on the three traditional Langhe varieties with a little Cabernet Sauvignon for frame. Paolo Scavino is one of the established names of Barolo, farming from Castiglione Falletto since 1921 and led by Enrico Scavino since the 1950s, today with his daughters Enrica and Elisa.

Serve at around 16 degrees, or with a slight chill on a warm day, alongside pizza, charcuterie, grilled meats or a bowl of pasta; there is no need to cellar it.
