Paul Bara Special Club Rosé 2018

Paul Bara Special Club Rosé is a vintage grand cru rosé released under the shared bottle of the Club Trésors de Champagne.

The Special Club is the bottling of the Club Trésors de Champagne, whose grower members must present each candidate wine to a blind tasting by the rest of the club before it may be released, and only estate grown vintage wine qualifies. Paul Bara's rosé version draws entirely on grand cru Bouzy, where the family has farmed since 1833, and takes its colour in the local manner, from still red Pinot Noir made on the estate and blended into the base wine. Pinot Noir dominates the assemblage with Chardonnay in support. The wine is aged on lees in the chalk cellars under the village and disgorged with six grams per litre of dosage.

Vinous and firmly built for a rosé, it belongs at the table with duck, veal or grilled salmon; serve at around eleven degrees.
