Pewsey Vale Estate Riesling 2026

Pewsey Vale Estate Riesling is a classic dry Eden Valley Riesling from one of the region's oldest vineyards.

First planted by Joseph Gilbert in 1847 and replanted by the Hill-Smith family of Yalumba in 1961, Pewsey Vale sits high in the Eden Valley, where cool nights and thin, rocky soils suit Riesling. The estate is devoted to the variety and has been a pioneer of screwcap closures in Australia. The 2026 is pale straw with green hues, showing lemon, grapefruit, lime, white flowers and a touch of dried herbs. The palate is long, with lemon, lime and fresh rosemary, finishing on soft natural acidity and minerality.

Drink it young and well chilled with fish tacos, a lemony chicken salad or salt and pepper squid, or tuck some away for medium to long-term cellaring.
