Pewsey Vale Vineyard The Contours Riesling 2018

Pewsey Vale Vineyard The Contours Riesling is a bottle-aged Eden Valley Riesling released only when it has started to show its mature character.

Planted on terraces that follow the curves of the hillside, The Contours block is one of Pewsey Vale's most celebrated sites. The wine is held at the estate and released with bottle age, in this case in 2025 after seven years. The 2018 is pale straw with green hues, offering lemon and white flowers alongside emerging toast, honey and lemongrass. The palate is long and concentrated, with lime juice, toast, sage oil and lime marmalade, and soft, refreshing acidity. It will keep ageing gracefully for many years.

Serve it lightly chilled with grilled snapper, roast chicken, or pork with apple. There is no rush, as it will hold for years.
