Description
Pierre Gimonnet & Fils Special Club Oger Grand Cru is a single village blanc de blancs from one of the grand crus in the southern half of the Cote des Blancs.
Pierre Gimonnet & Fils is a Chardonnay specialist based at Cuis in the Cote des Blancs, with old vine holdings in the grand crus of Cramant, Chouilly and Oger, and a style built on stainless steel fermentation, no oak and restrained dosage. Spécial Club is the label of the Club Trésors de Champagne, an association of grower producers formed in the early 1970s, whose rules require that the wine come from the member's own vines, carry a single vintage, and pass two blind tastings by fellow members before release in the club's distinctive bottle. Oger lies between Avize and Le Mesnil sur Oger, and its Chardonnay is firmer and slower to open than that of villages nearer Epernay.
Serve at about 10 degrees with oysters, sashimi, roast fish or a plate of hard cheese, and give the glass a little time rather than drinking it straight from the fridge.
*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
