Pierrick Laroche Chablis 375ml 2023

Pierrick Laroche Chablis is a village level Chardonnay from the northernmost outpost of Burgundy.

Chablis lies well north of the Côte d'Or, closer to Champagne than to Beaune, and its cool continental climate gives Chardonnay a leaner, higher acid profile than anywhere else in Burgundy. The village appellation covers the gentler slopes and plateau land on either side of the Serein, planted on Kimmeridgian marl, a grey limestone clay laid down in a shallow sea and packed with small fossil oyster shells, which is generally credited with the chalky, saline signature of the wines. Village Chablis of this type is normally fermented and raised in stainless steel with no oak so that the site speaks plainly. This bottle is sealed under a Diam closure.

Dry, crisp and unoaked, it is the standard match for oysters, raw and grilled seafood and goat's cheese; serve at eight to ten degrees.
