Description

Pio Cesare L'Altro is an unoaked Chardonnay from the Langhe hills of Piedmont.

L'Altro means the other one, distinguishing it from the barrel-fermented Piodilei. Chardonnay is not a traditional Piedmontese grape but was planted here from the 1980s, and in the Langhe's limestone soils it gives a clean, citrus-driven white. Pio Cesare has been at Alba since 1881. This wine is fermented cool in stainless steel with no oak at all.

Serve at 11 degrees with seafood, salads or a light pasta. Drink within three years.
