Pitchfork Shiraz 2023

Pitchfork Shiraz is a ripe, plummy Margaret River Shiraz made for easy everyday drinking.

Margaret River is best known for Cabernet and Chardonnay, but its warm, dry summers and ocean-tempered nights also produce generous Shiraz with good colour and supple texture. Hay Shed Hill, a Wilyabrup winery, bottles this under its Pitchfork label as an affordable, drink-now red. The fruit shows ripe cherry and plum with a chocolatey edge, and the palate has good concentration and fleshiness through the middle, with pleasing length. It is sealed under screw cap to hold on to its youthful fruit.

Serve at 16 to 18 degrees with pizza, spaghetti bolognese, barbecued lamb or a beef burger. There is no need to decant; just open and pour.
